Shades Mounted Inside Window Trim 

  1. Measure the depth inside the window opening from the front face of the trim or wall to the window glass at the top left, center and right. Specify the smallest of these measurements on your order. If the window frame is less than 2" deep, measure for shades mounted outside the window frame, below. 
  2. Measure the width inside the window opening from left to right at the top, center and bottom. Specify the smallest of these measurements. 
  3. Measure the height inside the window opening from top to bottom at the left, center and right. Specify the largest of these measurements. 

Shades Mounted Outside Window Trim 

  1. Measure the width outside the window trim from left to right at the top, center and bottom. For shades mounted to the outside edges of the trim, specify the smallest of these measurements on your order.
  2. For shades mounted onto the wall outside the window trim, add to the measurement above at least 4" to extend outside the trim at least 2" on each side left and right. Specify the smallest of these measurements. 
  3. Measure the outside height of the window trim from top to bottom at the left, center and right. Place your order using the largest of these measurements. For shades mounted onto the outside edges of the trim, specify the smallest of these measurements.
  4. For shades mounted onto the wall outside the window trim, add to the measurement above at least 4" to the top above the trim for the valance box and mounting. Specify the largest of these measurements. 

Drapery and Valances 

  1. Measure the width and height of the window. 
  2. Measure the wall height at the top and bottom of the window. 
  3. Measure the wall width at the left and right of the window. 
  4. Determine the preferred width and length for the finished drapery and valance. 
  5. Measure the return or extension from the wall. 

Cushions 

  1. Measure the overall width, depth and height of the cushion when it is filled. 
  2. Measure the size of the cushion when it is flat by pulling the edges of the cover from corner to corner. 

Upholstery 

  1. Measure the width, depth and height of the item to receive cushions or upholstery. 
  2. Provide a photo and/or sketch of the item. 

Headboards and Bed Linens 

  1. Measure the width, length and height of the bed. 
  2. Determine the preferred height of the headboard. 

Table Linens 

  1. Measure the width, length and height of the table. 
  2. Determine the preferred overhang of the tablecloth.
